Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

The position is responsible for the safe packing of materials as stated on production routings and bills of materials or as required by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic; ability to maintain neat, accurate and complete records and logs, both manually and/or electronically; continuous mental and visual attention (eye-hand coordination); basic proficiency with personal computers.
• Performs entry level warehouse functions including pulling and packing materials for production or customer orders; receiving, shipping & stock storing.
• Utilizes hand held scanners and computer terminals to access and enter data
• Works under direct supervision, following standard operating procedures.
• Meets Productivity and Quality Goals
• Operates all equipment in a safe and professional manner, while completing tasks on a timely basis.
• Keeps work area clean and well organized and assists in keeping entire facility in the same condition.
• Works within the guidelines of ISO and EHS.
• Understands the DWK Quality Policy and relevant Quality Objectives.
• Recognize his/her contribution to the effectiveness of the OPS including the benefits of improved performance and comprehend the impact or effect of not conforming with OPS.
• Observe all safety precautions, rules and regulations and maintains work area in a clean and safe manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent
• 6 months to 1 year experience working in a production/warehouse environment preferred
• Familiar with warehouse operations, receiving, shipping, storing and retrieving stock, and associated paperwork preferred
• Good math, reading, and communication skills required. Legible handwriting a must. Ability to work from verbal or written instructions required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Sitting, walking, bending and lifting up to 70 lbs.
