Job summary

Aver Sign Company in Ferndale, MI is seeking a dependable Warehouse & Yard Helper to support daily warehouse, receiving, and yard operations. This hands-on role focuses on organization, material handling, receiving shipments, and keeping outdoor storage areas tidy.

You will safely operate a Hilo/forklift and assist with loading/unloading trucks. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and comfortable in a physical environment, with the ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Previous Hilo/forklift experience or certification required.
• Previous warehouse, receiving, material handling, or general labor experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable loading, unloading, and moving materials.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments and assist with unloading materials
• Organize, stock, and maintain warehouse inventory and storage areas
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks and company vehicles
• Move materials, equipment, and supplies throughout the warehouse and yard
• Help prepare and stage materials for production and installation teams
• Maintain organized and clearly accessible storage areas
• Assist with general inventory and material organization
• Safely operate a Hilo/forklift when moving or storing materials
• Support other warehouse and facility projects as needed
• Maintain organized outdoor material and equipment storage areas
• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials in the yard
• Keep work areas free of debris and potential safety hazards
• Help organize materials, equipment, and supplies stored outdoors
• Perform general yard and facility support as needed
• Minor janitorial responsibilities are limited to the warehouse, yard, and related work areas
• Sweeping warehouse floors and work areas
• Emptying warehouse trash and debris
• Keeping aisles, storage areas, and workspaces clean and organized
• Helping maintain a safe and orderly warehouse environment
