Job summary

Penske Logistics is hiring warehouse sanitation workers to keep a cold storage facility clean and safe. You will perform mopping, trash removal, pallets, spills cleanup, and daily sanitation logs under supervision, with a physical requirement to lift up to 50 lbs and work in 28° F to 55° F environments.

This role offers a competitive wage and benefits. Shift is 3pm to 3:30am, Thursday to Saturday, totaling 12-hour nights across 3 days, with a $1/hr differential in addition to the base $19.57/hr.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and vacuuming surfaces.
• Empties trash bins and cleans trash area daily; operates trash compactor when applicable
• Pulls pallets and clean/scrubs product bays on a rotating basis
• Clean up any spills or breakages to the inventoried product; recoup damages and determine if resalable or must be disposed of per food safety standards and requirements
• Clean other areas of the warehouse and offices, including break rooms, restrooms, offices, etc.
• Complete daily sanitation logs
• Utilize chemicals, detergents, and cleaning equipment
• Operate scrubber and pallet jacks if required to perform duties
• Able to identify and address cleanliness and sanitation issues
• Complies with all safety requirements
• Escalate issues timely and directly to supervisor
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Position Summary

Under warehouse supervision, a sanitation worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary warehouse and office in a manner that is consistent with the company's standards of quality and safety, and productivity.

• Flexible to work overtime preferred
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
• Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
