Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Night Warehouse Selector in Norwich, CT. You will safely and accurately select and palletize customer orders, using specialized software and equipment, while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires endurance for long night shifts and the ability to handle 20–80+ lb lifts in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package starting Day One, overtime incentives, and potential retention bonuses based on productivity.

Qualifications

• Must read and communicate in English for trainings, coaching, labeling and reporting.
• Able to work 8+ hour night shifts (Sun–Thu, may include weekends/holidays).
• Experience in high-endurance or physically demanding roles within past 6 months.
• Experience selecting large scale orders in a warehouse or distribution center.
• Experience operating a motorized pallet jack or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

• Select customer orders safely and accurately to meet requirements.
• Palletize products and wrap pallets per productivity/accuracy standards.
• Perform pre-shift equipment checks and safely operate electric pallet jacks.
• Transfer products from racks to pallets using order selecting software.
• Stage and transport orders to the dock and ensure clean, safe aisles.
• Collaborate with team to maintain safety and equipment return flow.
• Adapt to additional duties assigned by management.

Your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently select and prepare customer orders, ensuring that all products are accurately selected and palletized in a timely manner.Key ResponsibilitiesSelecting: Safely and accurately select customer orders, confirming that selected products are correct and undamaged.Palletizing: Construct and wrap pallets to meet weekly productivity and accuracy standards.Operation: Conduct pre-shift equipment checks and safely operate electric pallet jacks.Fulfillment: Transfer products from racks to pallets using order selecting software.Staging: Transport products to the designated dock area and shrink-wrap palletized orders.Collaborate: Work with the team to maintain clean and safe aisles and return equipment to the charging area.Adaptability: All other duties assigned by management.Physical RequirementsComfortable working in a multi-temperature environment ranging from less than 0 degrees to over 100 degrees required.Lift, carry, push, pull, and lower 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively; moving 1,000+ cases of product during each shift required.Continuously stand, grasp objects & manipulate objects; occasionally sit; frequently walk, drive pallet jack, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel/bend, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, & use manual dexterity.QualificationsMust be able to read and communicate in the English language such as to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, read labels, and enter information on reports if needed.Able to work 8+ hour night shifts, typically Sunday – Thursday. At times weekends and holidays are required.Recent experience (within past 6 months) in high endurance or highly physical activity or role preferred e.g. lifting/transferring patients, sports/fitness, farming, construction work, etc.Experience selecting large scale orders in a warehouse or distribution center environment preferred.Experience operating motorized pallet jack or similar equipment preferred.About US FOODSClick here to learn more!Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds).
