Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Forklift Operator in Laredo, Texas to join a safety-conscious team. The role involves loading/unloading, moving materials, and operating forklifts with a warehouse management system.

Candidates should be able to read, follow directions, and work with attention to safety and quality. Full-time hours, with overtime as needed, and a comprehensive benefits package accompany this opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers.
• Move materials within the warehouse.

• Read work orders or receive instructions to determine tasks.
• Record units moved on production sheets or tickets.
• Distribute materials to production workers or lines.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and related equipment.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

This is a new operation located in Laredo, Texas.

Position Details

Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (weekends/holidays as required)

• $21.63 base rate

Job Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers
• Move materials within the warehouse
• Complies with all safety requirements
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
• Communicate with associates from other shifts
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
• Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required (Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred)
• Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
• Flexible to work overtime preferred
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
