Cold Storage facility: 34° F to 55° F

Job Responsibilities:

1. Accurately match numbers & letters
2. Accurately stage and sort products for loading
3. Loads and unloads trailers
4. Maintain a clean and safe work area
5. Sorts and places parts in racks or other designated areas
6. Stacks cardboard boxes and pallets
7. Move materials within the warehouse
8. Complies with all safety requirements
9. Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
10. Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
11. Quality control
12. Ensure damaged products are identified and removed when received
13. Complete daily logs
14. Communicate with associates from other shifts
15. Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information
16. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
17. Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
18. Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
19. Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms
20. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
21. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
22. Uses computer to enter records
23. Prepares parcels for mailing
24. Maintains inventory records
25. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
26. Operate forklifts or pallet jacks to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment (where applicable)
27. Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

1. No prior warehouse experience required but preferred.
2. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
3. Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
4. Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
5. Flexible to work overtime preferred
6. Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
7. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
8. Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
9. Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
