Job Description

Warehouse Worker is responsible for the expedient and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the warehouse facility and to the train. General warehouse duties occur within the assigned area of warehouse operations and support all areas of the warehouse as needed.

Job Responsibilities

1. Assembles supplies and equipment requisitions for delivery to trains per Amtrak's Pars.
2. Delivers food, supplies, ice, linen, and other materials to trains.
3. Picks inventory as instructed.
4. Responsible and accountable for stocking and accurately documenting all inventory.
5. Utilizes inventory control (FIFO) rotation procedures to minimize waste/spoilage.
6. Participates in daily/weekly/monthly inventory counts.
7. Loads and unloads products and materials from trucks and/or railcars.
8. Moves products and materials to warehouse storage.
9. May be required to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) including forklifts, tugs, carts, and pallet jacks. Only employees meeting Aramark's CMV policy requirements will operate PIVs. Forklift operation requires additional certification and training.
10. Safely operates PIVs in accordance with safe work procedures and operating guidelines.
11. Follows all Standard Operating Procedures and safety/security guidance.
12. Completes daily logs.
13. Communicates with employees from other shifts.
14. Cleans and maintains work area.
15. Performs general warehouse work as assigned.
16. Participates in daily shift briefings.
17. Works in cooler and freezer environments.
18. Uses PCs, hand-held computers, or similar devices.
19. Meets accuracy and production standards.
20. Complies with OSHA, MSDS standards, and all company policies and procedures.
21. Maintains a professional attitude towards co-workers, management, clients, and visitors.
22. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Manual dexterity for operating machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Repetitive motion, overhead reaching, working in extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills, including use of scanners and hand-held devices.
• Must be able to push a fully-loaded warehouse cart.

This role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing. Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
