Job summary

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart in Walton, KY is seeking a Plant Operator for our medical waste treatment facility. The role involves lifting heavy bins, weighing containers, and operating autoclave and Washsmart systems, with strict paperwork accuracy.

The position is full-time on the 3rd shift (Sun–Thu, 9:30 PM–6:00 AM) with benefits from day one. A strong team player with a can-do attitude will succeed in this essential healthcare operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse or labor-intensive work with heavy lifting.
• Willingness to pass drug screening and background check.
• Ability to read/record weights accurately and perform basic math.
• Comfort with repetitive tasks and PPE in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lift and move 55–75 lb bins and push heavy carts as required.
• Weigh incoming sharps and medical waste containers.
• Operate autoclave and Washsmart system for container processing.
• Record paperwork with attention to detail for each container.
• Stand for extended periods and work effectively with the team.

Job description

We are looking to hire an operator for our Daniels' medical waste treatment facility in Walton, KY. What will your job involve?

• Lifting 55lbs bins and push a four-wheeled cart that weighs as much as 200lbs
• Weigh incoming sharps and medical waste containers
• Load/operate our autoclave machine (a pressure chamber to melt materials)
• Load the Washsmart system (container washing + sanitization system)
• Provide attention to detail with the paperwork required to process containers
• Standing for extended periods of time happily and comfortably
• Working well with a team!

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience in a warehouse labor-intensive job (repetitive lifitng of 50lbs to 75lb containers!!)
• Willingness to take a 5 panel urine drug screening
• Willingness to take a 7 year background check
• Basic math and ability to read/record weights accurately
• Familiarity with weighbridge/scale systems
• Comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in PPE
• Proven longevity with employers
• Can-do attitude!!
