Job summary

Swyft Fiber is hiring a Warehouse Worker in Winnfield, LA to load, sort, stage, and transport products within our distribution center. The role requires a safety-first mindset and accuracy.

You will operate forklifts and handheld scanners, assist with inventory, and ensure timely shipment. A high school diploma and 1+ year of warehouse experience are preferred; forklift certification is a plus; a valid driver’s license is required.

Job Summary

Responsible for loading, sorting, staging, and transporting products into and out of the warehouse/distribution center.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Follows Company safety policies and procedures and encourages other team members to do the same.
  • Safely operates industrial trucks (forklift, pallet jack, floor scrubber, etc.) and other machinery to complete tasks, such as loading, unloading, selecting, sorting, staging, and transporting products.
  • Works cooperatively and productively with other team members to complete tasks under little supervision.
  • Unloads product while correctly labeling and stacking product on skid and shrink-wrapping to be properly secure.
  • Loads trucks according to cubic weight, size, and characteristics.
  • Provides outstanding service by maintaining attention to detail and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
  • Maintains condition of warehouse/distribution center work area (i.e., free of trash, product in correct locations, etc.)
  • Performs safety checks of powered industrial trucks prior to operation.
  • Locates products in warehouse using manifest or scanning system.
  • Uses hand-held scanning equipment to add or subtract products from inventory.
  • Records quantity of products loaded on manifest system.
  • Ensures accuracy of load, by verifying quantity with computer inquiry screens.
  • Performs trailer audits (verify trailer #, cleanliness, condition etc.) prior to loading and informs supervisor of any deficiencies.
  • Transports products from production/receiving area using powered industrial vehicles.
  • Assists with inventory cycle counting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of warehouse experience preferred.
  • Forklift certified preferred.
  • All shifts will be flexible and require weekend rotating work.
  • Individuals must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record meeting the company and insurance policy conditions.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding, Heavy position requiring prolonged standing and walking; frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; the ability to work at elevated heights and on uneven terrain; and the ability to safely operate tools, equipment, ladders, and vehicles. The position requires working outdoors in varying and sometimes extreme weather conditions and may involve work in remote locations.

Due to the physical demands of this position, all candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment will be required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-placement functional capacity evaluation to verify their ability to safely perform the essential physical functions of the job.
