Job summary

LKQ Corporation in Alaska is seeking a warehouse associate to receive, store, and move product in our facility. The position offers a 5:30am - 2:00pm shift with pay at $19.00 per hour and excellent benefits.

You will pick products, operate forklifts or hand trucks, and keep shelves organized while following established procedures. A high school diploma or GED and up to 1 year of experience are preferred, with basic math and computer skills required. Periodic travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Up to 1 year of related work experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with forklift or order picker is a plus.
• Knowledge of warehouse processes and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Receive and store inbound product in designated locations.
• Pick items and deliver to staging area or delivery truck.
• Operate manual or powered equipment to move products.
• Sort parts and maintain orderly racks and bins.
• Keep work areas clean and compliant with policies.
• Follow instructions and perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Job Duties

• Receive and put away inbound product to designated location.
• Pick/pull correct product from the appropriate locations and delivering to staging area/delivery truck.
• Operate a manual/powered equipment to transport product in and about warehouse.
• Sort and place parts and supplies on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
• Maintain orderliness and housekeeping of assigned work areas.
• Comply with established company policies and procedures.
• Assumes other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Not responsible for supervising employees.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

• Up to 1 year of work related experience.

Preferred Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Warehouse, or similar, work environment, prior PIT (forklift, order picker, etc) experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.
• Problems encountered are simple, repetitive, and generally solved by clear directions and procedures.
• Follows standard procedures with no decision making involved.
• Uses guidance/guidelines provide by supervisor/manager.
• Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods of time.
• The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE). May be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
• Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
