Job summary

Interstate Batteries in Houston is seeking a Warehouse Team Member I to accurately process receiving, transfers, picking, packing, and shipping using RF barcode devices and various material-handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.

No experience is required, but familiarity with warehouse operations and basic computer use is a plus. You must lift up to 50 lbs regularly and possibly up to 75 lbs, with overtime as needed. This is a safety-conscious, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
• High school graduate
• No experience required
• Experience in warehouse operations preferred - including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack and stretch-wrap machine preferably in warehouse environment
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Sense of urgency and well organized

Responsibilities

• Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• Load and unload batteries
• Restock batteries
• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations
• Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries
• Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment
• Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims
• Operate a forklift and maintain a current certification
• Properly tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• General warehousing duties (such as restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas)
• Ability to multi-task and/or quickly transition from one function/task to the next function/task
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by warehouse distributor management
