Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan seeks a Warehouse Associate to perform routine duties in our open-pit mining support facility in Chino, NM. Under direct supervision, you will receive, unload, inventory, store and distribute goods, update WMS, and communicate delays to customers.

The role requires 1 year of related warehousing experience and basic computer skills including SAP, Excel, and MM software. The position offers stability in a 24/7 operation and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• One year of warehousing, material handling / inventory or customer service experience.
• Solid computer skills with SAP, Excel and MM software.
• Ability to operate light equipment and perform cycle counting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine warehouse duties: receiving, unloading, inventory, storing, movement and distribution of goods.
• Receive, inspect, and unload goods; process reservations and issue materials to customers using company systems.
• Review orders, check inventory availability, pull items and stage for delivery; notify customers of delays.
• Update warehouse management systems (WMS) and maintain records of delivered items and remaining inventory.
• Deliver materials to customers, capture proofs of delivery, and perform housekeeping and safety tasks.

Chino is an open-pit copper mining complex located 15 miles from the historic mining community of Silver City in southwestern New Mexico. The historic Chino mine was among the world's first low-grade, open-pit copper mines. Today, the operation consists of a 36,000-metric-ton-per-day concentrator that produces copper and a 150-million-pound-per-year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant that produces copper cathode from solution generated by run-of-mine leaching.

What You Will Do

• Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine warehouse duties involving the receiving, unloading, inventory, storing, movement, and distribution of goods and materials at assigned site.
• Receives, inspects, and unloads goods and materials and places into inventory. Processes reservations and issues material to customers utilizing the systems as defined by the company.
• Receives and reviews orders for goods and materials. Reviews inventory records to determine availability. Pulls requested items and stages for delivery. Communicates with customers to notify if any possible delays are expected.
• Updates warehouse management systems (WMS) as needed to:
  • Maintains records of delivered items and remaining inventory.
  • Updates manual or automated inventory listings.
• Operates a variety of light equipment, hand trucks and vehicles within a warehouse environment.
• Delivers material to customers, captures proof of delivery signatures, and maintains a record of delivered items.
• Performs cycle counting.
• Perform other duties as required including housekeeping and safety related tasks.

What You Bring To Freeport

• One (1) year of related experience in warehousing, material handling / inventory or customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Solid experience with computer skills in SAP, Microsoft Excel, Materials Management software

The estimated pay range for this role is currently$XX.XX - $XX.XX/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
