Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation seeks a Warehouse Technician in West Palm Beach, FL. You will manage shipping/receiving, inventory controls, and routine paperwork while ensuring accurate data entry and safe operation of equipment.

The role requires a Florida driver’s license, forklift capability, and willingness to obtain first aid certification. You’ll work with a team, participate in training, and support continuous improvement across the facility.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicles.
• Willing to participate in company training programs.
• Capable of obtaining first aid certification (CPR, etc.).
• Able to write and print legibly.
• Physically capable of heavy lifting and manual labor.
• Capable of operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Compare identifying information and counts, weigh or measure shipments and verify against records.
• Maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
• Prepare routine administrative paperwork for materials received.
• Verify order accuracy and process return shipments.
• Oversee inventory of Natural Gas materials and meters.
• Monitor Natural Gas meters and shelf life.
• Pack and ship returned meters for testing.
• Track and send Natural Gas regulator retirements to accounting.
• Operate dolly/pallet jack, shrink-wrap machine, and company fleet vehicles; assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area.
• Maintain inventory items to keep facilities organized for quarterly inventory.
• Work as a team with customers and vendors.
• Handle special projects as assigned by supervisor.

What you'll be working on...

• Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measurements of incoming and outgoing shipments and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records on proprietary software.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork for materials received.
• Verify order accuracy and process return shipments
• Oversee, order, inventory of Natural Gas material and meters
• Monitor Natural Gas meters and shelf life
• Pack and ship returned meters for testing
• Track and send Natural Gas regulator retirements to accounting
• Operate dolly and/or pallet jack in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; operate shrink-wrap machine; operate company fleet vehicles to deliver shipments; assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; lock and secure various company facilities.
• Maintain inventory items appropriately to keep company facilities well organized and prepared for quarterly inventory.
• Ability and strong desire to work as a member of a team with customers and vendors.
• Special projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Who you are...

• Must have a valid Florida driver's license and be capable of driving company vehicles.
• Must be willing to participate in company training programs.
• Must be capable and willing to obtain certification to render first aid, artificial resuscitation, etc.
• Must be able to write and print legibly.
• Must be in good physical condition and capable of heavy lifting and manual labor.
• Must possess tact and suitable personality for customer and employee contact.
• Must be capable of operating a forklift.
• Must have a keen sense of smell and adequate hearing and eyesight.
• Must be able to read at normal comprehensive level.
• Strong skills and experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
