Job summary

LGG INDUSTRIAL in New Orleans, LA, is hiring a Warehouse Technician to manage warehouse operations and ensure on-time, accurate fulfillment. This role supports safety policies, receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control to meet customer expectations.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of warehousing or production experience, a valid driver’s license, and a mechanical aptitude, with willingness to work nights/outside hours if needed. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • 1-3 years of related warehousing or production experience
  • Ability to safely drive a Company truck or other mechanical equipment
  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn about how our products are produced on equipment
  • Reliable transportation is a must
  • Ability to work overtime, as required
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as required
  • Background checks and drug screening may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law)

Responsibilities

  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
  • Receives incoming shipments into inventory, posts in online system and places items in warehouse
  • Identify any missing, lost or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor
  • Picks product in warehouse and prepares items for pick up, delivery or shipping
  • Package and ship through UPS, Fed Ex, and LTL Motor Freight
  • Assist with staging local shipments for VMI delivery and Hot Shots
  • Handles customer pickups
  • Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements
  • Assists with physical inventory
  • Properly label and store received goods for future identification and retrieval
  • Maintain all warehouse locations, bins, and racks in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Properly keep designated stocking locations stocked as required
  • Pull stock for all "Pick- Pack-Ship" orders for daily customers
  • Provide correct parts and materials for daily production orders
  • Perform other duties as trained and qualified for

Summary of the Role

The Warehouse Technician will manage all activities related to the functioning of the warehouse in order to meet or exceed customer expectations and to achieve facility and company goals.

Skills and Abilities
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office, internet and email
  • Experience working in ERP or Inventory system such as P21 a plus
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory software and to create packing list
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Applicants should possess the ability to interact with customers and team members in a professional manner. Some leadership experience is a plus.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Requires proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in units of measure. Additionally, must be able to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Strong organizational and housekeeping skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and be able to interact effectively with all types of people

  • Experience working in an industrial setting
  • Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
  • ERP experience, P21 a plus
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • This position is based in a production and warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to a range of environmental conditions. These include fluctuating temperatures (both hot and cold), varying noise levels, exposure to dust, and other typical elements of an active industrial environment.   • Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs independently on a repeated basis. Heavier items may be moved with team assistance or mechanical aid.

  • Ability to work in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work at varying work-surface levels and machine operation heights.
