Job summary

LGG Industrial in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Warehouse Technician to join our production and warehouse team. This full-time, non-exempt role focuses on safe, accurate receiving, inventory posting, and order fulfillment.

You will handle packing, shipping via UPS/FedEx/LTL, local deliveries, basic ERP data entry, and assist with physical inventories. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma/GED, 1–3 years warehousing experience, and a valid driver's license; ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent production experience.
  • 1–3 years warehousing or production experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime, nights, or weekends as needed.
  • Strong math, packing, and inventory skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.
  • Receives incoming shipments into inventory, posts in online system and places items in warehouse.
  • Identify missing, lost or damaged materials and notify supervisor immediately.
  • Picks product in warehouse and prepares items for pickup, delivery or shipping.
  • Package and ship through UPS, FedEx, and LTL Motor Freight.
  • Assist with staging local shipments for VMI delivery and Hot Shots.
  • Responsible for local deliveries and pickups.
  • Supports improvements to products and processes.
  • Pull stock for all order types and provide correct parts for daily production orders.

Role Profile

Position: Warehouse Technician

Job Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Responsibilities
  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
  • Receives incoming shipments into inventory, posts in online system and places items in warehouse
  • Identify any missing, lost or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor
  • Picks product in warehouse and prepares items for pick up, delivery or shipping
  • Package and ship through UPS, Fed Ex, and LTL Motor Freight
  • Assist with staging local shipments for VMI delivery and Hot Shots
  • Responsible for local deliveries and pickups
  • Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements
  • Assists with physical inventory
  • Properly label and store received goods for future identification and retrieval
  • Maintain all warehouse locations, bins, and racks in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Properly keep designated stocking locations stocked as required
  • Pull stock for all “Pick- Pack-Ship” orders for daily customers
  • Provide correct parts and materials for daily production orders
  • Perform other duties as trained and qualified for
Skills and Abilities
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office, internet and email
  • Experience working in ERP or Inventory system such as P21 a plus
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory software and to create packing list
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Applicants should possess the ability to interact with customers and team members in a professional manner. Some leadership experience is a plus.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Requires proficiency in math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in units of measure. Additionally, must be able to perform calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Strong organizational and housekeeping skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and be able to interact effectively with all types of people
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • 1-3 years of related warehousing or production experience
  • Ability to safely drive a Company truck or other mechanical equipment
  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn about how our products are produced on equipment
  • Reliable transportation is a must
  • Ability to work overtime, as required
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as required
  • Background checks and drug screening may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an industrial setting
  • Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
  • ERP experience, P21 a plus
Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position is based in a production and warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to a range of environmental conditions. These include fluctuating temperatures (both hot and cold), varying noise levels, exposure to dust, and other typical elements of an active industrial environment. Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs independently on a repeated basis. Heavier items may be moved with team assistance or mechanical aid. Ability to work at varying work-surface levels and machine operation heights. Ability to move above or below workstations or retrieve items from various heights. Ability to ascend and descend ladders or stairs, as required. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and safety procedures. Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, inventory sheets, and procedure manuals. Ability to count, measure, and record data accurately. Ability to respond to safety signals, alarms, and verbal instructions. Ability to inspect products and materials to detect imperfections, defects, or irregularities and ensure quality and compliance. Ability to properly and safely use mechanical equipment and tools, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery (training and certification may be required). Ability to enter and exit a service vehicle and other mechanical equipment multiple times per day. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, or hard hats, depending on task or site conditions.
