Job description

Urban Surfaces is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide excellent customer service while managing warehouse inventory, fulfilling orders, and preparing vinyl flooring shipments for delivery. The ideal candidate will be proactive, team-oriented, and willing to assist in various aspects of the business.

Requirements :

Primary Responsibilities :

1. Sort and store materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to size, type, style, color, or product, using a sit-down forklift.
2. Pull materials based on sales orders and assemble customer orders from stock.
3. Prepare shipments, ensuring proper packaging and protection of products during transit.
4. Label materials, scan barcodes, and record quantities received or distributed.
5. Assist in the samples department by cutting, labeling, and packing product samples.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Education :

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience :

• At least 2 years of warehouse experience.

Skills :

• Proficient in operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Knowledge of forklift safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Ability to maneuver forklifts in tight spaces and around obstacles.
• Physical strength and stamina to lift loads over 50 pounds.
• Proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
• Accurate inventory counting and recording.
• Familiarity with inventory control systems and RF scanners.
• Ability to follow procedures for receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail in stacking and inspecting goods.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands :

Requires long periods of standing, walking, and sitting, with frequent lifting of items up to 50 pounds. Tasks may involve bending, stretching, and working in extreme weather conditions.

Working Environment :

Employees will use RF scanners, forklifts, and other equipment, primarily working in a warehouse attached to a two-story office.
