Job summary

Interstate Batteries is seeking a Warehouse Team Member II to join our operations. The role ensures a well-stocked, organized warehouse and supports Route Service Managers by delivering batteries on a regular basis.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, restocking, battery testing and dating, and maintaining safety and cleanliness in the warehouse. Forklift operation and driving duties may be required as part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of warehouse experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of carrier operations, routing, and distribution methods.
• Familiarity with state, federal, and interstate commerce regulations.
• Basic computer skills or willingness to learn systems.
• Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or forklift.
• Clean driving record and driver qualifications.

• Return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
• Follow driver program requirements as specified.
• Other duties as requested.

Purpose of Job:

The Warehouse Team Member II provides a well -stocked and organized warehouse and assists Route Service Managers. Must be able to deliver batteries on a regular basis.

Job Components:

• Load and unload batteries

• Restock batteries

• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations

• Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries

• Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment

• Accuratelymaintainwarehouse reporting and claims

• Operate a forklift and motor vehicle

• Run the Hot Shots ona timelybasis as needed

• Fill in for NAC Delivery Specialist or RSM, as needed

• Collect and handle payments on account, which may include cash, checks and money orders

• Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.

• Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager.

• Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year warehouse experience preferred.

• Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills

• Strong time management skills and able to work under pressure

• Knowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing, and distribution methods

• Knowledge of state, federal, and interstate commerce regulations

• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required

• Understanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirements

• Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or forklift

• Must have a clean drivers record AND meet driver qualifications requirements

Scope Data:

• Frequent independent judgment and decision making

• Backup driver

• Operate with integrity and demonstrate a positive attitude

Work Environment:

• Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk

• Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

• Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs

• Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals

• Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle

• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required
