Job summary

Coastal Beverage Company in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Warehouse Team Member 1 to join the Coastal Crew. You will safely move, pick, and load beverage products onto delivery trucks, with emphasis on accuracy and timely service.

Requirements include at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, forklift or pallet jack experience, and the ability to perform physical work. The schedule is Monday through Friday with early start times, and equal opportunity employment is offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and labels.

Responsibilities

• Move product to proper warehouse location and rotate stock using FIFO.
• Assist in repackaging damaged product per company/vendor requirements.
• Ensure accurate pull of orders by SKU and product code.
• Provide courteous in-house customer service and assist customers with loading.
• Process orders, sign/ship paperwork, and enter data into the system.
• Operate forklift safely and maintain certification up to date.
• Keep work area clean and report spills or damages immediately.
• Wear required PPE and follow safe lifting techniques.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.

As a WAREHOUSE TEAM MEMBER 1, you will be responsible for safely moving, picking and loading our beverage products onto our delivery trucks. Excellent time management and customer service skills required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1. Move product or material to proper location in warehouse. Rotate product in bins to ensure proper rotation of stock and to eliminate picking errors.
• 2. Assist in the repackaging of damaged product following all Company and vendor requirements. Apply required safety procedures such as wearing cut resistant gloves and safety glasses.
• 3. Ensure proper pull of order based on SKU, product codes while maintaining proper rotation of stock utilizing FIFO (First In First Out) and sell by dates. Mark pick tickets for out of stock items.
• 4. Provide courteous and prompt customer service for in-house orders. Respond to pages and greet customers, pull orders and assist customers with loading. Represent CBC professionally by adhering to company uniform and appearance standards.
• 5. Report invalid SKU's, damaged product and excessive discrepancies. Sign, date, and ship orders, receiving and other paperwork and enter data into the computer system.
• 6. Operate forklift according to Company and regulatory requirements, keeps certification up to date and reports all accidents immediately. Complete daily pre-ride report to document and report, physical damage, and/or mechanical or electrical problems with forklift. Maintain fluid levels on assigned forklift and ensure that it is kept charged.
• 7. Maintain clean and organized working area by cleaning and reorganizing while working. Responsible for immediate clean up of all spills and damaged products, reporting same to Supervisor or manager for documentation. Complete partial pallets and puts away mixed pallets.
• 8. Wear all required PPE (personal protection equipment). Load orders following safe work habits and safe lifting techniques. Report near miss incidents and unsafe work situations or conditions. Immediately report all accidents and near misses to supervisor or manager for documentation, investigation and correction.
• 9. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18, possess high school diploma or equivalent, Possess minimum of three months similar or related experience, forklift and/or walkie-rider/electronic pallet jack experience, possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, bar graphs, and procedure manuals, have excellent customer service and communication skills, professional appearance and demeanor, possess the ability to perform physical work. Prior distribution warehouse experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly/constantly (>66% of workday) Employee must regularly/constantly walk, stand, reach knee to shoulder, lift/push/pull exerting force over 20 pounds, hear and see. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, eye-hand coordination, acuity, and ability to adjust focus.
