Job summary

SurfacePrep is seeking a diligent Warehouse Team Member to support daily warehouse operations, including inventory control, shipping and receiving, and production planning. You will help ensure accurate records, timely movements, and safe handling of goods in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, forklift experience, good communication, and the ability to learn product codes quickly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of warehouse experience, including forklift experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand company product codes and terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update warehouse databases.
  • Coordinate and schedule movement, storage, and shipment of products within the warehouse.
  • Execute daily production and shipping plans, including organizing excess stock.
  • Optimize storage space by adjusting product placement and flow of finished goods.
  • Verify inventory availability for outgoing shipments through record checks or physical counts.
  • Identify slow-moving inventory and arrange for its removal with approval.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment to store goods and load shipments as needed.
  • Repack, restack, and manually handle pallets of finished products when required.
  • Complete necessary documentation, forms, and reports for warehouse activities.
  • Perform general warehouse duties and assist with other tasks as assigned.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide support as needed.
  • Manage communications with 3PL’s and dispatch programs via email and phone.
  • Process item and inventory inquiries using the P21 system.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
  • Deliver products to internal departments as requested.

Description

The Warehouse Team Member is responsible for supporting and overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient coordination of inventory, shipments, and logistics activities.



Job Type

Full-time



Bonus Program


  • $500 after 30 days of employment

  • $500 after 60 days of employment

  • $1,000 after 90 days of employment



Key Responsibilities


  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update warehouse databases.

Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.

  • Minimum of two years of warehouse experience, including at least one year of forklift operating experience preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn and understand company product codes and terminology.



Physical Requirements & Working Conditions


  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and position materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Manually maneuver fiber drums and other materials throughout the warehouse.

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach and perform physical tasks as needed.

  • Safely operate in a fast-paced warehouse environment around forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

  • Work safely in varying warehouse conditions, including exposure to dust, noise, temperature fluctuations, and moving machinery.

  • Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and respiratory protection, as required.

  • Comply with warehouse safety requirements, including wearing utility pants/work trousers and closed-toe shoes at all times.
