Job summary

UPS is seeking a hands-on supervisor for our package handling team in the New York area, focusing on safety, productivity, and training. This permanent, on-site role requires leadership to ensure accuracy and efficient operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The position emphasizes developing staff, enforcing safety policies, and maintaining high standards across departments, with opportunities for growth and additional responsibilities within UPS.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 70 lbs / 32 kgs.
• Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent - Preferred: Management experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Package Handlers and trains, develops, and holds workgroups responsible for safety, production and attendance.
• Sets and maintains high standards for productivity, accuracy, customer service, organization, communication, cooperation, and safety.
• Ensures all employees adhere to safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Promotes a positive, team-oriented work environment with proactive communication and continual improvement.
• Implements employee personal development plans and orientation/training for department personnel.
