WAREHOUSE TEAM LEAD

Job Type: Full-Time

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Louisville, KY - Onsite

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

The Warehouse Team Lead supports daily warehouse operations by coordinating team activities, maintaining productivity standards, and ensuring safe, accurate handling of inventory and orders. This role acts as a working leader who provides direction to warehouse staff while maintaining hands‑on involvement in operational tasks.

Employees in this role are expected to maintain reliability, demonstrate leadership through action, and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of warehouse operations.

EXPECTATIONS
Leadership & Team Support
  • Provide day-to-day direction to the warehouse team
  • Lead by example through a strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism
  • Support training and onboarding of new employees
  • Assist team members in resolving operational issues and questions
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and safety-focused work environment
Operational Oversight
  • Coordinate daily workflow for the department (including, but not limited to: receiving, picking, packing, and shipping activities)
  • Monitor productivity and ensure work is completed accurately and on time
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse areas
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy
  • Identify and communicate operational issues or improvement opportunities to management
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow and enforce company safety standards and procedures
  • Ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment
  • Identify and report safety hazards or concerns promptly
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and operational procedures
Communication
  • Maintain clear communication with warehouse staff and management
  • Provide updates on operational progress and any issues impacting workflow
  • Coordinate with other departments when necessary to support efficient operations
Quality Control
  • Verify accuracy to minimize errors and returns
  • Monitor quality checks during processes
  • Address quality concerns promptly and escalate recurring issues to management
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-4 years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience
  • Previous experience in a lead, trainer, or informal leadership role preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate workflow
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and make operational decisions within established guidelines
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions
