Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Warehouse Picking and Packing Team Lead in Edison, New Jersey, offering weekly pay and comprehensive benefits. The role centers on leading daily warehouse tasks, ensuring safety, and guiding a team to meet KPIs in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year leading teams, warehouse experience, and proficiency with MS Office and RF scanners. Healthcare, 401(k), and other benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• One year or more experience as Team Lead preferred.
• One year or more Microsoft Office courses (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) preferred.
• One year or more warehouse experience preferred.
• RF scanner experience required.
• Valid forklift operator's license certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement efforts for warehouse efficiency.
• Perform warehouse tasks including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation and cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize daily work duties for optimal shift results.
• Inspire team members to improve KPI performance using appropriate leadership styles.
• Provide orientation and tools to employees for their tasks and safety.
• Promote health and safety practices within the warehouse.
• Handle paperwork such as picking sheets and bills of lading.
• Submit daily reports and propose actions to improve operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Warehouse Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay $20 per hour ($19.50 + $0.50 shift pay)
• Schedule: Sundays 6am-2:30pm and Monday to Thursday 3pm-11:30pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
• Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.
• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
