Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio is hiring Temp to Hire Warehouse Associates with weekly pay and a path to full-time employment. The role requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, operating and maintaining forklifts, and using a RF scanner in a fast-paced distribution center.

You will support inbound/outbound logistics, pick and pack orders, and keep the facility safe and organized. Second shift 5:00 pm–1:30 am, Sunday-Thursday, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of related warehouse experience required.
• One year or more related warehouse experience preferred.
• Learn to operate powered industrial trucks (stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks) including maintenance.
• May be required to operate manual/ automated other warehouse equipment (packaging line).
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Able to read and perform basic math in English for safety and instructions.
• Able to input data into the WMS system.
• Ability to work overtime as assigned.
• Able to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to operate in fast-paced environment.
• Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized with excellent time management.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers. Ensure all scanning is completed correctly. Help train dock employees on new procedures. Ensure facility is secure at end of shift; investigate/resolve scanning issues and housekeeping. Perform picking and packing duties. Check for evidence of product or container damage
• Perform the assigned tasks as described in the location's policies and procedures standards to include handling of materials within associated logical transactions
• Perform material moves with associated physical/logical transactions as required
• Participate in workgroup and other team activities for self improvement and improving warehouse operations and related business functions
• Perform housekeeping duties for assigned area
• Performs other duties as assigned

Warehouse Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay $17.00 per hour

• Additional Pay: $1.00 per hour when working second shift

• Schedule: Second Shift Sunday-Thursday 5:00 pm - 1:30 am, weekends as needed for OT
