Job summary

MSI Express in Batavia, NY is seeking an experienced warehouse supervisor to lead shift operations, coordinate all warehouse functions, and ensure accurate shipping and receiving while upholding safety and GMP guidelines.

You will train and develop staff, manage inventory and equipment, partner with other departments to resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement to meet production and customer goals. This role is in-person and expects Second Shift coverage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective equipment operation and warehouse efficiencies are met: Manage material receiving/finished goods shipping, documentation and execution so that product quality is maintained.
• Ensure effective equipment operation and warehouse efficiencies are met: Work with customers to ensure their goals for shipping and receiving are met.
• Ensure effective equipment operation and warehouse efficiencies are met: Manage organization of the warehouse.
• Ensure effective equipment operation and warehouse efficiencies are met: Drive food safety and quality of materials through worker training, development and ensure warehouse equipment is properly functioning and operated.
• Ensure effective equipment operation and warehouse efficiencies are met: Generate work orders for equipment issues and improvements.
• Responsible for Inventory Management: Work with operations to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained per production schedule.
• Responsible for Inventory Management: Ensure inventory systems Bill of Materials are setup for proper relief of inventories during production.
• Responsible for Inventory Management: Effectively manage finished goods levels.
• Responsible for Inventory Management: Work with external warehouses to effectively manage inventory levels.
• Responsible for Inventory Management: Manage the scheduling of deliveries with suppliers and manage exceptions.
• Responsible for Inventory Management: Manage and perform inventory cycle counts.
• Continuous Improvement of Operations: Understand Warehouse processes, including shipping and receiving.
• Continuous Improvement of Operations: Review warehouse efficiencies and work with all departments to improve throughput.
• Continuous Improvement of Operations: Work with management to improve efficiencies and reduce cost.
• Continuous Improvement of Operations: Track improvement ideas to understand effectiveness of changes.
• Support personnel training and development: Ensure warehouse personnel are trained on SOPs, performing the tasks on the equipment checklists, performing quality inspections, and monitoring and documenting materials entering and leaving the facility.
• Support personnel training and development: Ensure warehouse personnel are trained on warehousing, general operations, food safety and quality SOPs.
• Support personnel training and development: Assess employee performance, develop improvement plans, and implement training to increase employee skills and performance.
• Support personnel training and development: Provide regular, documented feedback to employees to improve performance.
• SOP implementation and review in areas of responsibility: Understand SOPs and provide improvement ideas and upgrades.
• SOP implementation and review in areas of responsibility: Ensure employees are properly trained on SOPs.
• SOP implementation and review in areas of responsibility: Ensure SOP training is properly documented.

ROLE PROFILE

To ensure warehousing, shipping and receiving targets are met or exceeded by training and developing workers, managing employee scheduling, managing inventories and inbound and outbound trucks. Ensure product quality is preserved through proactive involvement in process improvement. Supervise, manage and develop warehousing personnel. Conduct plant audits and reviews of warehouse assuring company standards are maintained and work with other departments to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems. Identify and help to implement improvements. Function as an information source to various departments to continuously improve operations. Support customer service during customer visits and audits. Support the Plant Manager on special department projects. Ensure workers are following safety and GMP guidelines.

• Assess employee performance (both MSI and Staffing), develop improvement plans, and implement training to increase employee skills and performance
• Provide regular, documented feedback to employees to improve performance
