Job summary

Optimal Solution Company is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee hourly staff and ensure safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness across assigned departments. You will oversee daily operations, coordinate workloads, and drive continuous improvement using standard methods.

The role requires solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, strong communication, and the ability to analyze problems, schedule work, and enforce workplace rules while maintaining compliance with 49 CFR Ground

Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Proficient in basic math and calculations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of basic technology in the work area.
• Knowledge of scheduling and management systems.
• Relatively high analytical ability for complex problems.
• Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and engage staff.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and support hourly employees with needs/concerns as required.
• Address performance behaviors by praising positives and discouraging negatives.
• Use Quality Network problem solving to address opportunities and engage staff.
• Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) to improve layouts and efficiency.
• Update Timekeeping System (TKS) to ensure payroll accuracy.
• Use A-3 reporting format to document problem solving activities and follow guidelines.
• Conduct daily meetings to communicate performance and have two-way discussions with employees.
• Perform weekly safety observation tours of departments.
• Plan daily workloads in advance.
• Support colleagues to optimize shift performance.
• Observe contractual requirements (National and Local).
• Enforce Shop Rules.
• Perform daily SOP audit checks.
• Advance skills through IDP process.
• Keep General Supervisor Shop Committee apprised of pending activities.
