Job summary

Tops is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee perishable warehouse operations, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery. You will train new hires, enforce sanitation standards, and manage a team of warehouse staff with a focus on performance and policy compliance.

The role requires 1–3 years of supervisory experience in a grocery or fast-paced environment, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of supervisory experience in warehouse supervising at least 10 associates; grocery/production environment preferred.
• Experience in a grocery or fast-paced production environment preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Ability to read and write; strong communication skills.

The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of perishable warehouse employees, ensure compliance with all company policies, assist in the training of new hires, and ensure all safety, production, sanitation, and quality standards are attained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure quality and On-Time delivery to customer
• Ensure compliance of sanitation guidelines by warehouse employees
• Monitor employee relations and handle employee issues/problems
• Assist with training new hires and other training as needed
• Oversee the daily actions of employees including performance management
• Ensure all employees are in compliance with safety policies
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Ability to read, and write
• Strong Communication Skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
• Experience in a unionized environment preferred
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience in Warehouse supervising at least 10 associates; preferably in the Grocery industry or fast paced, production based environment

EQUIPMENT USED

• Constant- standing, walking, driving, carrying, twisting, bending, seeing, hearing, and handling paperwork. Lifting of objects weighing from less than 20 lbs. to 60 lbs.
• Frequent- stooping, balancing, and hearing
• Occasional- pushing, sitting, feeling, reaching, climbing, pulling, gripping of items ranging from under 20 lbs. to over 60 lbs.
• Temperature of Grocery warehouses can range from 50° to 80° Fahrenheit, a Perishable warehouse can range from 28° to 60° Fahrenheit, and a Freezer warehouse can range from -20° to -10° Fahrenheit.
• Steel Toe Shoes are required
• Heavy Equipment – as dictated by position and location
