Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee loading, unloading, packing, shipping, receiving and inventory control. You will supervise two or more warehouse staff, train them, assign work, and participate in staffing decisions.

The role requires physical work, lifting up to 70 pounds, and operation of forklifts and pallet jacks. Expect a standard daytime schedule with opportunities to influence safety and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year warehouse experience; 2+ years preferred.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Ability to lift/move inventory up to 70 pounds.
• Operate warehouse equipment per safety instructions (forklifts, pallet jacks).
• Ability to work in warehouse with temperature variations and outdoors conditions.
• PPE usage and safety compliance required.
• Knowledge of warehouse layout, operations, and procedures.
• Super User of WMS; teach system utilization.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform activities of employees engaged in loading, unloading, selection, packing, shipping, receiving and inventory control.
• Train and assign work to two or more warehouse employees; assist in staffing decisions.
• Lift and move inventory as needed; operate and maneuver warehouse equipment.
• Maintain equipment and safe working conditions; inspect loading operations for compliance.
• Compile unshipped orders, post weights and shipping charges; prepare bills of lading and reports.
• Oversee yearly inventory and daily cycle counts; participate on Steering Committee; support special projects.
