Warehouse Supervisor | Closing Shift | Monday-Friday
West Side Beer Distributing is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our closing-shift warehouse operations at our Romulus location. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for daily operations, team performance, safety, inventory accuracy, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 10:00 AM-7:00 PM (or until all orders are completed)
Salary: $60,000-$65,000 annually, based on experience or qualifications
Reports To: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

About the Role
The Warehouse Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for closing-shift warehouse operations, ensuring customer orders are accurately selected, loaded, and prepared for next-day delivery.This position leads and develops warehouse associates, monitors operational performance and KPIs, ensures inventory accuracy and safety, and works closely with warehouse leadership, Inventory, Transportation, Sales, and other departments to resolve issues and keep operations on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily closing-shift warehouse operations and ensure orders are accurately selected, loaded, and prepared for delivery.
- Supervise, coach, train, and develop warehouse associates while maintaining accountability for attendance, productivity, safety, quality, and performance.
- Monitor productivity, labor utilization, order accuracy, inventory, and other key operational metrics.
- Analyze results and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, service, and cost-effectiveness.
- Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and voice-pick technology to support warehouse operations.
- Coordinate with Inventory and Transportation to resolve issues and ensure orders and deliveries are completed on schedule.
- Verify outbound loads, inventory rotation, product handling, and order accuracy.
- Conduct warehouse inspections and ensure equipment, processes, and procedures meet company safety standards.
- Participate in accident investigations, safety initiatives, training, and OSHA compliance efforts.
- Review payroll, operational reports, and other documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
- Identify and assist with implementing process improvements and operational initiatives.
- Communicate operational needs, challenges, and opportunities to management and other departments.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 4-5 years of progressive warehouse, distribution, logistics, or operations supervisory/leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold employees accountable.
- Experience monitoring operational KPIs and using data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Experience with inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping/loading, or distribution operations.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing operational demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work extended hours when operational needs require.
- Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screening, including a physical, drug screen, background check, and MVR review, if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in beverage, food, grocery, consumer products, or another high-volume distribution environment.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and voice-pick technology.
- Experience supervising multiple shifts, departments, or large warehouse teams.
- Experience managing labor productivity, order accuracy, service levels, and other warehouse KPIs.
- Experience implementing process improvements that increased productivity, reduced errors, or improved efficiency.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, product rotation, order selection, loading, and distribution processes.
- Track record of developing employees and preparing high-potential team members for increased responsibility.
- Forklift and/or electric pallet jack certification, or ability to obtain after hire.
- CDL-A license is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the warehouse.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds independently.
- Work in warehouse, refrigerated cooler, and outdoor environments.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment while enforcing company safety standards.
- Maintain productivity, quality, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
