Great Lakes Wine and Spirits in Detroit area is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for the Night Shift. You will oversee daily assignments, coordinate with managers, and ensure safety and efficiency across the operation.

The role requires 2–3 years in a warehouse lead role with WMS, and 5+ years in sorting/picking in a distribution center. Strong communication and active, on-your-feet work are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years in warehouse lead/supervisor role with WMS experience.
• 5+ years sorting, picking, or production in a warehouse distribution center (food & beverage preferred).
• Must be able to operate warehouse equipment and stay on feet during shift.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational performance and assist with daily assignments; communicate with management and team.
• Enforce safety guidelines, PPE, and proper handling of materials; monitor breakage and overtime.
• Open/close/reset work areas per protocol; audit drop zones for correct handling.
• Maintain payroll and employee logs; verify punches, approve overtime, record leave.
• Assist with hiring, discipline, and reporting; develop and coach staff.
• Lead team meetings and drive engagement and safety within the shift.

Great Lakes Wine and Spirits is a growing statewide company seeking a WarehouseSupervisor to work the Night Shift at one of our depots in theDetroit area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee operational performance by assisting and covering fellow managers and supervisors with daily assignments, taking into account: volume, call-offs, and employee training needs. To facilitate this, proper communication with management and fellow team members is crucial. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

• Mitigating and monitoring: careless behavior, breakage, idle & over-time, and excessive or inappropriate supply usage
• Following safety, security guidelines as communicated, pertaining but not limited to: cleanliness, PPE compliance, biomechanical techniques, potential hazards, MHE certs, suspicious activity and theft
• Opening/closing/resetting work areas and/or buildings as dictated by protocol
• Auditing work area drops zones to ensure product is physically and electronically handled correctly
• Surveying assigned work area(s) daily to identify & correct issues that aren't in line with shift/company goals regularly throughout the shift
• Ensuring work area SOPs / responsibilities are properly and timely addressed

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will also be responsible for maintaining logs pertinent to payroll and employee information as needed. Other duties include but are not limited to:

• Verifying punches, approving overtime, and recording leave via daily / weekly inputs
• Assisting with hiring, reprimanding and discharging for direct reports under management supervision
• Authoring and submitting injury, disciplinary and any other assigned forms in a timely manner following company standards and protocols

Warehouse Supervisors will also train, develop, lead, counsel, delegate and performance coach to ensure our nightly objectives are met. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting team meetings on subject matter delegated by Warehouse Management, as well as HR and Safety
• Monitoring and maximizing employee engagement via recognition and accountability interactions with direct reports
• Ensuring safety guidelines are communicated and followed by direct reports
• Ensuring equipment assigned to or required by direct reports is maintained, available and functioning properly

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The Warehouse Supervisor will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations where noise levels can be loud. This position also requires to be very active and may frequently be standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing throughout the day. Items will weigh up to 50 pounds that will require frequent lifting, stacking, moving and rotating without handles and pushing/pulling carts with up to 100 pounds of force.

Work Schedule

This position works the Night Shift, Sunday through Thursday, and occasionally Fridays based on business needs and holiday schedule.

Pay & Benefits

• At least $60,000 - $75,000 per year (paid semi-monthly).
• Potential quarterly bonuses up to 2.5% of annual salary ($1,500 - $2,125 per quarter).

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 consecutive years of experience in a warehouse lead or supervisor role using warehouse management systems.
• Minimum 5 years of experience sorting and picking or production in a warehouse distribution center (food and beverage industry preferred).
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
• Ability to be active and on your feet for an entire shift.

• Cooperates with all management and staff of GLWAS.
• Follows all MLCC rules and regulations, as they apply to the position.
