Job Responsibilities

• Supervises the administration and performance of all commissary activities for front-line associates during their shift. Reports to the Assistant General Manager (AGM) and interfaces with the General Manager (GM), Office Manager, Warehouse Managers, Clients, and Vendors.

• Monitors the activities of employees in the Amtrak railyard and/or station, ensuring compliance with all business processes and safety regulations.

• Oversees commissary operations to ensure a smooth flow of food and supplies to Amtrak trains, including requisitions, product tracking, temperature control, rotation, dating, delivery, inventory, and quality control.

• Maintains work methods and practices to ensure PARs are assembled per Amtrak's specifications and delivered on time.

• Ensures proper use, security, and maintenance of commissary facilities and equipment.

• Enforces security, safety, and sanitation policies at commissary, regional, and corporate levels, including proper use of Power Industrial Vehicles and compliance with NRA & FDA regulations.

• Supervises front-line associates during their shift, providing guidance through coaching and counseling as needed.

• Maintains accurate physical inventories and collaborates with office staff to resolve discrepancies.

• Enforces performance standards and schedules workforce to minimize overtime, participating in warehouse functions when necessary.

• Conducts staff training at yard and station, as well as daily shift briefings and monthly staff meetings.

• Ensures work areas are clean at all times and recommends improvements to productivity, efficiency, and customer service.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Understanding of safety importance
• Strong customer service, audit, math skills, and ability to work in a dynamic industrial environment
• Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial role
• Ability to pass Motor Vehicle Report check
