Job Description

Supervises the administration and performance of all commissary activities for front-line associates on the shift. Reports to the Assistant General Manager (AGM) and interfaces with the General Manager (GM), Office Manager, Warehouse Managers, Clients, and Vendors.

Job Responsibilities

1. Monitors employee activities in the Amtrak railyard and/or station to ensure compliance with all Business Processes and Safety Regulations.
2. Ensures smooth flow of food and supplies to Amtrak trains through commissary activities.
3. Oversees requisitions, product tracking, temperature control, rotation and dating, delivery, inventory, and quality control.
4. Maintains work methods to ensure PARs are assembled per Amtrak's specifications and delivered on time.
5. Ensures proper use, security, and maintenance of commissary facilities and equipment.
6. Enforces security, safety, and sanitation policies, including proper use of Power Industrial Vehicles and compliance with NRA & FDA regulations.
7. Supervises front-line associates during shifts and provides guidance through coaching and counseling.
8. Maintains accurate physical inventories and collaborates with office staff to resolve discrepancies.
9. Enforces performance standards for staff and schedules workforce efficiently, minimizing overtime.
10. Conducts staff training at yard and station.
11. Leads daily shift briefings as needed.
12. Participates in monthly staff meetings.
13. Ensures cleanliness of work areas at all times.
14. Provides recommendations to improve productivity, efficiency, and customer service.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Understanding of safety importance
• Strong customer service, audit, math skills, and ability to work in a dynamic industrial environment
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in supervisory or managerial roles
• Ability to pass Motor Vehicle Reports check
