Job summary

G&W Electric Co. in Bolingbrook, IL, seeks a Warehouse Supervisor to manage the Bolingbrook warehouse, logistics and incoming materials. You will supervise the receiving, shipping team and material handlers, collaborate with in-house buyers to maintain stock levels and implement processes for accuracy.

The role requires 5+ years in inventory/warehouse management, a Bachelor's in operations or business, and strong leadership. ERP/JDE experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years inventory/warehouse management experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in operations or business management or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in a high pace environment.
• Understanding of ERP systems; JDE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and deploy a holistic inventory plan for Bolingbrook including accuracy and cross-functional processes to maintain correct levels.
• Lead receiving, shipping and material handler teams; define standard work; ensure timely material delivery; maintain safe, organized layout.
• Develop and maintain relevant KPIs; monitor changes to ensure warehouse infrastructure is in place; introduce new technology to improve accuracy.
• Oversee day-to-day performance of ~6+ employees; guide toward goals; participate in HR-related decisions (hires, performance, discipline).

Warehouse Supervisor

The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for the Bolingbrook warehouse, logistics and all incoming materials. He/She will work with inhouse buyers to ensure adequate stocking levels are maintained, implement systems/processes to maintain accuracy, and deliver materials to manufacturing when they are needed. This role will include direct supervision of the G&W Bolingbrook receiving, shipping team and material handlers.

As a Production Supervisor you will:

• Create and deploy a holistic inventory plan within the Bolingbrook factory which includes inventory accuracy and implementation of cross functional processes to maintain correct inventory levels and mitigate/eliminate obsolete / slow moving inventory.
• Drive an organized, well trained receiving, shipping and material handler team within the following criteria:
  • Define and create standard work processes for inventory management and material delivery.
  • Deliver materials to manufacturing in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the physical layout of the warehouse and receiving environment is safe, organized and ergonomically efficient.
  • Communicate incoming quantity inaccuracies, packaging, or damaged goods issues directly to supply chain for long term solution.
• Develop and maintain relevant KPIs for scope of responsibility.
• Monitor changes in the business to ensure adequate warehouse infrastructure is in place at all times.
• Introduce new technology to improve transactional accuracy. Continually refine.

As a Supervisor and Leader you are:

Responsible for day‑to‑day performance of a group ~ 6 + employees. Guides/monitors group toward its goals ensures employee's productivity, resolve problems, has authority to change work roles and work distribution. Responsible for genuine input regarding Human Resources matters of significance: e.g. participates in selection of new employees, provides meaningful input to performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, terminations etc.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a minimum of 5 years inventory / warehouse management experience
• Holds a Bachelors degree, preferably in operations or business management; or equivalent experience
• Shows outstanding leadership qualities and previous supervisory experience in high pace environment.
• Has demonstrated understanding of ERP system, JDE preferred

Ideally you will also have:

• Strong organizational, motivation and communication skills
• Open personality; natural curiosity to learn while very focused on essential activities as agreed with management
• Self starter who can operate with minimal supervision
• Lean background

The Physical Demands of the job are:

• General Office Environment, PC use

What we offer you:

Typical pay is $71,200 - $92,600 annually.
