Job summary

Position Summary:

Supervise Warehouse, Receiving, Shipping and Transportation functions and personnel that include Shipping/Receiving clerksand drivers.Management and accuracy of the inventory in Warehouse 400 and Private warehouses and overseeing the receiving and shipping of product and information. Work with Customer Service, Supply Chain and Manufacturing to ensure customers’ orders are received and shipped in accordance with regulations, quality and customer specifications and requirements.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for insuring transactions involving incoming and outgoing products and information are properly documented in the computer system in order to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Oversee the preparation of product and information to ensure timely shipment to customers consistent with company standard procedures and work instructions.
  • Support the team on site: generating the picking list, picking material, strapping/wrapping, checking the documentation, loading and unloading trucks, when needed.
  • Management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.
  • Oversee proper storage according to the company hazard compatibility plan.
  • Oversee cycle counts and reconciliation activities. Coordinates the disposition of expired materials and materials on hold.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of the department activities.
  • Develop and maintain departmental work instructions for all tasks.
  • Define the route of the trucks and customer deliveries with the drivers in order to optimize the time and efficiency.
  • Contact customers to address issues with their deliveries and coordinate with logistics and customer service. Coordinate rush orders and priority changes.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce health and safety regulations and procedures. Keep the records organized and available.
  • Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.
  • Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of lean practices.
  • Discharge duties assigned in ISO 9001 and Responsible Distribution as directed and initiate actions to prevent and correct non-conformance including interruption of production. Use the CPAR program as a continuous improvement tool.
  • Lead Kaizen and Lean improvements on site and also engaged the team members.
  • In Wilmington, this position will supervise drivers.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Conduct end-of-day inspections of warehouse and loading areas.
  • Order warehouse supplies.
  • Have a forklift license.
  • Through lean practice, ensure and schedule, cleanliness/appearances of warehouse. Oversee 5s projects.
  • Investigate and complete CAR in accordance to department.
Qualifications
