Job summary

Genuit Group is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor in the Ulster, NY area to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, and shipping while maintaining safety and high standards of accuracy. The role requires leadership to train staff and coordinate with logistics and procurement, with a focus on process improvements to reduce costs.

Hours are Monday to Thursday 8am–4:30pm and Friday 8am–3:30pm, totaling 39 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising staff in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to develop, initiate and maintain systems and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Health and safety standards knowledge in warehouse operations.
• Forklift truck qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, storing and shipping, ensuring staff coordination.
• Enforce company policies and safety regulations for staff safety.
• Manage inventory with records, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution.
• Plan resources to meet daily requirements, maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime.
• Train, mentor and provide feedback to warehouse staff for efficiency.
• Coordinate with logistics and procurement on incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Identify and implement process improvements to lower costs and boost efficiency.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain cleanliness, organization, and quality compliance.
• Resolve warehouse issues promptly while maintaining positive employee relations.
• Prepare and analyze reports on productivity, inventory levels, and shipping/receiving accuracy with recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials, while ensuring efficient coordination amongst the staff.
• Monitoring and enforcing compliance with company policies and safety regulations to ensure the safety of all warehouse employees.
• Managing inventory, which includes maintaining accurate records, conducting cycle counts, and resolving any discrepancies.
• Effectively plan and allocate resources in order to meet daily operational requirements, maximising productivity and minimising downtime.
• Train, mentor, and provide regular feedback to warehouse staff in order to cultivate their skills and expertise, enabling them to carry out their duties with utmost efficiency.
• Work together with other departments, such as logistics and procurement, to effectively manage and prioritise incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Consistently seek out opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and decrease costs.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with quality standards.
• Manage and resolve any warehouse-related issues or conflicts that may arise, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining positive employee relations.
• Prepare and analyse reports on warehouse operations, including productivity, inventory levels, and shipping/receiving accuracy, providing recommendations for improvement.

Hours Of Work

Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30 pm and Friday 8am to 3.30pm.

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse environment.
• Experience of supervising/managing staff and delegating tasks
• Experience of delivering training
• Ability to develop, initiate and maintain systems and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good administrative and organisational ability
• Problem solver and competent decision maker
• Full UK driving licence
• IT competent and able to use various IT platforms/systems
• Experience and knowledge of adhering to health and safety standards within a warehouse operation
• Forklift Truck operators' qualification

Desirable Criteria

VNA Forklift Truck operators' qualification.
