Major Goal

This position is responsible for leading and managing all warehouse activities on a daily, shift or team basis in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. The scope of this position includes all phases of warehousing including, shipping, receiving, inventorying, product repackaging, palletizing and forklift operation. Responsible for providing proactive and excellent customer service to assigned account(s), assisting with scheduling inbound and outbound shipments with Customer’s Carrier’s (including LTL and TL shipments) if applicable, and managing all Warehouse Customer’s invoices and billing documents.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards including daily inspection and maintenance. Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a forklift, reach truck, or motorized pallet rider. Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas. Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers or containers. Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Pick and pack (order picking and/or assembly of products in less than full case lots), light assembly (assembly of light mechanical or electrical component parts or sub-assemblies that may require the use of hand tools) and record storage. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed. Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Supervise checking and unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product and picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with high level of productivity. Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all product is properly counted. Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion. Compute and analyze daily, weekly production metrics. Assist in physical inventories, maintain product locator system Ensure the optimal utilization of space, rotate product using FIFO. Ensures customers’ special requests are carried out and all problems and/or discrepancies are investigated. Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions. Maintain a clean neat and orderly work area.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leadership – Supervise the training, development, appraisal and work assignments of Material Handlers and/or temporary personnel, if applicable General Direction Supervision - receive very general guidance with respect to overall objectives; work is usually quite independent of others; operate within division or department policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four‑year college or university; or minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Critical Interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple party communications utilizing various forms of software technology and will be expected to successfully negotiate and resolve customer claims.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to analyze data and information, and to handle large amounts of paperwork and transactions, with a high rate of accuracy. Ability to use innovative approaches to resolve complex problems.

Computer Operations

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to learn and effectively use software applications such as move management, timekeeping, HRIS and other software systems used in the performance of job duties. RF Scanner SAP knowledge required.

Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

Certified license of powered material handling equipment.
