Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) is a Wisconsin-based dairy cooperative operating multiple plants that produce cheese and dairy products for foodservice, retail, and ingredient markets.

We seek a supervisor to manage inventory, monitor production goals, and lead the shipping department, including forklift training and GMP compliance. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, supply-chain management, or similar areas preferred.
  • Three years of supervisory experience required.
  • Five years of experience in dairy or food production, manufacturing, industrial process operations or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and maintain an accurate, efficient inventory system.
  • Monitor processes to meet production goals.
  • Interview, train, schedule, and monitor shipping department staff.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Complete cycle counts as required.
  • Follow up on work orders promptly.
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers, patrons, employees, and customers.
  • Be on call and come into the plant as needed, including weekends.
  • Obtain forklift certification and train employees on forklifts.
  • Reduce under-grade product, foreign material, and quality complaints.
  • Inspect, review, and follow up on audits.
  • Emphasize GMP compliance and training.
  • Cross-train with receiving to provide coverage.

Job description

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description AMPI owns six Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese and processed cheese is produced.

The cooperative's award-winning cheese and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time: 1. Responsible for scheduling and maintaining an accurate and efficient inventory system. 2. Monitor processes and procedures to meet all production goals. 3. Interview, train, develop, schedule and monitor employees that work in the shipping department. 4. Maintain accurate and complete records 5. Complete cycle counts as required. 6. Follow up on the prompt issuance and completion of work orders. 7. Maintain a good working relationship with suppliers, patrons, employees, and customers. 8. Be on call and come into the plant as needed, which may include any time outside of the normal shift and weekends. 9. Obtain forklift certification and training requirements, responsible for training employees on forklifts. 10. Continually work with the plant to reduce under-grade product, foreign material, and quality complaints. 11. Play an active role in inspecting, reviewing, and following up on all plant and department audits. 12. Emphasize, train, and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). 13. Crosstrain with the receiving department to provide coverage as needed.
