Job summary

Covetrus in Lexington, KY is seeking an Operations Supervisor - Outbound to lead the outbound distribution center operations, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment and shipping to exceed customer expectations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years in warehouse leadership, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; Lean Six Sigma knowledge is a plus. You’ll oversee picking, packing, shipping, and compliance, and you may lift up to 50-70 pounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preference for Operations/Logistics/Supply Chain or related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in warehouse or production environment.
• Minimum three years in a leadership role in a warehouse or production environment.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with distribution processes (receiving, shipping, inventory control).
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge (Green Belt or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs all outbound distribution activities in partnership with the Outbound Manager to meet company requirements.
• Collects customer feedback, recommends improvements, and implements actions to enhance the customer experience.
• Optimizes picking, packing, and shipping processes while ensuring DC compliance with regulations.
• Acts as main point of contact for outbound shipments; coordinates with Sales, Regulatory, and Quality Affairs to resolve issues.
• Provides daily status updates and develops action plans for current day.

Our Lexington, KY location is seeking an Outbound Supervisor responsible for supervising the outbound operation of the Distribution Center to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and shipping to ensure the customers’ expectations are exceeded every day.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

• Partners with the Outbound Manager in directing all distribution activities including shipping and routing and administrative tasks to ensure company requirements are met.
• Gathers feedback regarding the customer expectations, makes recommendations to the Outbound Manager, and implements appropriate changes to continually improve the customer’s experience.
• Provides input for efficient organization and layout of the DC by optimizing processes for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders while maintaining DC compliance with all governmental agencies and their regulations
• Acts as main point of contact for all inquiries regarding outbound shipments. Works with internal partners (Sales, Regulatory and Quality Affairs) regarding orders shipped. Answers questions and provides information to resolve any outstanding issues in a timely manner. Pro-actively communicates issues to appropriate individuals.
• Provides daily status updates to the Outbound Manager to review prior day’s performance and to develop action plan for current day.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree required, with preference for a major in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or other business-related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse or production environment
• Minimum three years of experience in a leadership role in a warehouse or production environment.
• Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft and computer skills
• Experience and knowledge in distribution processes (receiving, shipping and inventory control) required.
• Must meet any minimum certification qualification required by any local or state board or licensing agency, as applicable within span of control (varies by location)
• Green belt or equivalent in Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma preferred.
