Operations Supervisor - Outbound, Animal Health
Location: Lexington, KY
Job Responsibilities
- Partners with the Outbound Manager in directing all distribution activities including shipping and routing and administrative tasks to ensure company requirements are met.
- Gathers feedback regarding customer expectations, makes recommendations to the Outbound Manager, and implements appropriate changes to continually improve the customer’s experience.
- Provides input for efficient organization and layout of the DC by optimizing processes for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders while maintaining DC compliance with all governmental agencies and regulations.
- Acts as main point of contact for all inquiries regarding outbound shipments. Works with internal partners (Sales, Regulatory and Quality Affairs) regarding orders shipped. Answers questions and provides information to resolve any outstanding issues in a timely manner. Pro‑actively communicates issues to appropriate individuals.
- Provides daily status updates to the Outbound Manager to review prior day’s performance and develop an action plan for current day.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or other business‑related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of three years of experience in a warehouse or production environment.
- Minimum three years of experience in a leadership role in a warehouse or production environment.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft and computer skills.
- Experience and knowledge in distribution processes (receiving, shipping and inventory control) required.
- Forklift certification desired.
- Must meet any minimum certification qualification required by any local or state board or licensing agency, as applicable within span of control (varies by location).
- Green belt or equivalent in Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

- Must be flexible to work mandatory overtime hours as needed to ensure timely customer delivery.
- Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50‑70 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk on concrete for the duration of the shift and complete tasks that include bending, stooping, and reaching.
- May require occasionally working in a cooler environment of 35°‑46° F.
