Job summary

UNFI is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations, lead a fast-paced team, optimize processes, and ensure inventory accuracy. You will work with other departments, manage shipping/receiving activities, and enforce safety standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, process improvement, and maintaining compliance with policies and regulations while using WMS reporting tools to track performance.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and supervises shipping/receiving associates (crew set up and job assignments).
• Monitoring and enforcing work rules and policies (Creating and Issuing Discipline).
• Controls production standards, accuracy of shipments and receiving, using proper accuracy programs and systems (DLX reviews).
• Conduct order selection trail audits and finished pallet breakdown audits.
• Maintains daily production and accuracy records (throughput eval by area).
• Processes store returns and returns to vendors using company policies.
• Coordinates with Inventory Control regarding slotting, product rotation and space allocation.
• Conducts daily crew meetings to discuss safety, productivity and accuracy (ACE meetings).
• Supervises scheduling of inbound load appointments.
• Walks warehouse daily with Superintendent to ensure safety, security, sanitation and pest control codes and policies.
• Develops and maintains good working relationships with all departments.
• Safety Reviews (PIT, Lifting Techniques, etc.).

What does it mean to be a part of our Warehouse Supervisor team? Our Warehouse Supervisor team oversees the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring that goods are stored, handled, and dispatched efficiently. They are responsible for leading and motivating a fast-paced team, optimizing processes, maintaining safety standards, ensuring inventory accuracy, and utilizing WMS systems for reporting and order management. This role involves coordinating with other departments, overseeing shipping, and receiving activities, and implementing strategies for inventory control. Warehouse Supervisors also ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and legal requirements. Job Responsibilities

• Coordinates with Inventory Control associates regarding slotting, product rotation and space allocation (optimizing slots and space)
• Conducts daily crew meeting to discuss safety, productivity and accuracy (ACE meetings and stretching)
• Supervises scheduling of inbound load appointments.
• Walks warehouse daily, with Superintendent, to ensure that safety, security, sanitation and pest control codes, laws, and policies are maintained.
• Develops and maintains good working relationships with all departments.
• Safety Reviews (PIT, Lifting Techniques, etc.)

Job Requirements

• Possess strong general knowledge of all warehousing operations, with prior work experience to include lead person or supervisory duties, preferably with the Company.
• Possess good supervisory skills and the ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results.
• Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe, and thorough completion of work activities. Possess the ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.
• Basic computer skills required and personal computer experience helpful, with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Physical Environment

• During part of the workday the incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor and potential hazards exist in regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
• Temperatures in the warehouse may vary between –20 to 70 degrees. Noise levels in all areas are within acceptable tolerance ranges for those specific work areas.
• Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
• Incumbent will use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of the workday.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
