Job summary

nVent is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor in Aberdeen, NC to supervise daily warehouse operations, lead safety and workflow improvements, and drive lean initiatives across distribution processes.

You will mentor the team, manage performance, and partner with Quality and Customer Service to resolve issues while maintaining high service levels. A Bachelor’s degree and distribution leadership experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Ideally 3 years previous experience in a distribution environment and 3 years in a leadership position.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises daily warehouse activities including planning, directing, and coordinating the ordering and distribution of products, parts, and accessories, manpower, maintenance of the warehouse.
  • Lead day-to-day activities of the warehouse including safety, planning, organizing and execution of all activities including personnel administration, performance evaluations, work assignments.
  • Spend a minimum of 50% of scheduled work hours on the warehouse floor to provide real-time supervision, support, coaching, and workflow oversight.
  • Provide leadership and work direction to team ensuring that resources adequate to meet key requirements related to safety, service levels, cost, and productivity.
  • Assist the quality manager with the investigation and review of quality claims, partner with Customer Service as needed to provide resolution to customer.
  • Drive data driven quality improvements leveraging the Lean and Quality Root Cause Countermeasure Investigation process, ensuring containment actions are in place while eliminating the root cause.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of each team member’s role, responsibilities, and workflows to ensure effective guidance, training, balanced workload distribution, and consistent operational performance.
  • Able to back up these roles as needed in team members absence.
  • Participate in and/or lead cross-functional projects and kaizen events involving the continuous improvement of distribution/logistics concepts.
  • Drive Zero Harm culture by developing a proactive approach to safety through the Risk Notification process and leading the department Safety Committee.
  • Be highly visible to associates and create an environment for participation.
  • Promote hands-on approach to problem solving.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION

YOU HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
