Job summary

The City of Alexandria is seeking a Stock Clerk to join the Central Warehouse team in Central Louisiana. You will receive, store, and distribute a wide range of materials, equipment, parts, and supplies for city operations.

This is a 40-hour-per-week position with overtime possible. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. Prior warehouse or forklift experience is preferred; training on safety procedures will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; plus 1 year warehouse or forklift experience.
• Valid driver's license; must obtain Louisiana license at appointment and maintain during employment.
• Must be able to operate forklift safely.

Responsibilities

• Leads warehouse operations and ensures compliance with policies, priorities and safety procedures.
• Receives and distributes orders, verifies items, processes purchase orders, and maintains records.
• Inspects warehouse facilities and equipment; performs general maintenance.
• Communicates with supervisor, staff, vendors to coordinate work and resolve issues.
• Prepares forms and reports; processes documents related to purchases, receipts and distributions.
• Operates forklift, front-end loader, trucks, pallet jacks and related equipment.
