Job summary

SA-TECH is seeking a Warehouse Specialist/Supply Technician at Naval Station Norfolk, VA. This full-time, non-exempt role supports the Combatant Craft Division by receiving, storing, inventorying, and shipping materials, and by aiding procurement for government customers.

You will operate pallet jacks and forklifts, maintain perfect inventory records, and collaborate with the Supply Department to ensure tools and materials are available for programs. A DoD environment experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years experience in supply/warehousing or inventory operations.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• DoD or military logistics experience preferred.
• CDL is highly desirable; valid VA license required to drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

Pay: $22.38/hr - $32.04/hr + $5.09/hr Health & Wellness Benefit

SA-TECH supports a dynamic U.S. Navy Directorate specializing in design, research, development, testing, and evaluation of experimental watercraft for military clients. We provide full-spectrum Operations and Maintenance support of various combatant craft, patrol boats, Special Operations Forces platforms and coastal craft, ensuring performance and fleet readiness.

Additionally, SA-TECH provides full-scale Government facility support to include operations management, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Environmental, Health, Safety, and Hazmat (EHS) program oversight, and administrative, material acquisitions, and financial support.

We are currently seeking to hire a Warehouse Specialist/Supply Technician to support a busy supply activity at the Combatant Craft Division at Carderock on Naval Station Norfolk, VA.

The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. The work involves most of the following:

• Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
• Routing materials to prescribed storage locations.
• Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
• Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.
• Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage
• Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
• May need to operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

The following job functions are basic requirements but other related duties may be assigned:

• Assist the Supply Department Manager in receiving, stocking, inventorying, issuing, packing, and shipping of all facility tools and material.
• Diligently follow all policies, procedures, documentation, and protocols to maintain positive control of all facility tools and material.
• Maintain 100% accurate tool and material location and inventory.
• Maintain overall warehouse cleanliness and intelligent organization and storage of tools, equipment, and material.
• Assist in researching, quoting, sourcing and procuring of parts, equipment and subcontracted services on behalf of our government customer.
• Provide status reports as requested to senior management and customer.
• Assist in material delivery and pickup from shipper or vendor locations.
• Perform routine logistics and warehouse functions assigned by supervisor at their discretion.
• Additional interdepartmental collateral duties as assigned by management.

Work Conditions:

• May be required to work first shift (0700-1530) or second shift (0830-1700).
• Work will be performed in enclosed buildings, office areas, and industrial warehouse environments.
• Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and reaching.

Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills:

• One to three (1-3) years of experience in supply/warehousing or inventory operations.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior military veterans in Supply-Logistics Rating/MOS strongly encouraged to apply.
• CDL license is highly desired
• Must be self-motivated, process-oriented, punctual and have excellent time-management skills.
• Requires personal accountability, strong work ethic, diligent records-keeping and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Extreme dedication to inventory accuracy and safekeeping of material.
• Proficiency in operation of warehouse equipment to include pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Experience with MS Office Software Suite, to include Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with electronic asset management databases and inventory management software.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Current VA Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
• U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
• All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
