Job summary

Austin Lighthouse is seeking a warehouse associate to help receive, store, and track inventory in our Texas facility. You will verify deliveries, maintain stock records, and support efficient warehouse operations.

Responsibilities include inventory counting, documentation, and preparing reports on stock usage. Candidates should be able to lift 10–50 lbs, stand for long periods, and pass a background check and drug screen. High school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Basic math and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives, stores, merchandise, and compiles stock records of items in warehouse.
• Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt against orders or invoices.
• Examines stock for conformance to specifications and stores items accordingly.
• Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock and requisitions articles to fill orders.
• Compiles reports on stock usage, inventory adjustments, and damaged stock.

Responsibilities

• Receives, stores, merchandise, compiles stock records of items in warehouse.
• Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice.
• Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications. Stores articles in bins, on pallet or on shelves, according to Austin Lighthouse for the Blind.
• Prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock. Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.
• Compiles reports on use of stock, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
• May cut stock to site to fill order.
• Transfer product for replenishment or deadstock, etc.
• Research product for resolving discrepancies.

Qualifications

Knowledge

• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective protection of data & property.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Basic Mathematics
• Knowledge of SCALE

Skills

• Actively looking for ways to help people.
• Communicating effectively in writing and orally as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
• Basic computer skills in using Microsoft Excel.

Abilities

• The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing or in alternate form.
• The ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, coworkers, and other departments.
• Have strong dexterity capabilities to grasp, assemble, and manipulate objects.
• The ability to stand or sit for 7-8 hours a day.
• The ability to lift 10-50lbs items/products repeatedly.
• The ability to endure extreme temperatures in a warehouse setting.
• The ability to navigate safely in small or large areas/environment.
• The ability to become forklift certified within the company.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
