Job summary

Hercules, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to support shipping/receiving, inventory activities, and pallet building at the facility. The role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with some overtime potential.

Hourly pay is $18/hour, depending on experience. Benefits include paid holidays, paid vacation, medical/dental insurance, 401k, and other great benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of experience in manufacturing or distribution is required; warehouse/shipping/receiving experience preferred.
• Forklift certification is required; high-reach forklift experience preferred.
• Valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of OSHA standards are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive truck shipments and verify goods against purchase orders.
• Stage shipments for pickup, pallet wrapping, weighing, and labeling.
• Prepare shipping documents and labels as needed.
• Load/unload trucks using forklift, pallet jack, or similar equipment.
• Store and retrieve inventory, assist with storage methods and locations.
• Assist with inventory records, cycle counts, and discrepancy investigations.
• Maintain safety practices and perform routine forklift inspections.
• Support warehouse operations as directed by supervisor/plant manager.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Specialist will work in the Houston, TX facility assisting with the warehouse operations, including execution of the shipping/receiving, inventory activities, and building pallets.

The schedule for this position is generally Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm but some flexibility in start/end times and overtime availability may be required.

Hourly pay is $18/hour depending on experience.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Physically receive truck shipments from various carriers, including verification of received goods to purchase orders for accuracy
• Stage shipments for pick-up, including pallet arrangement, wrapping, weighing, etc.
• Prepare pick tickets, labels, or other shipping documents
• Load/unload trucks of goods using forklift, pallet jack or other equipment
• Store and retrieve goods from warehouse inventory location, using forklift or pallet jack
• Assist with determining proper storage methods and location of goods within warehouse
• Assemble or customize goods to unique customer specification
• Assist with maintaining inventory records and reports
• Conduct cycle counts on recurring basis, including investigating discrepancies
• Label items in inventory appropriately
• Assist with quality inspection of incoming products to customer specification
• Assist with maintaining adequate supply of warehouse materials
• Assist with facilities maintenance as needed
• Routine forklift inspection and reports
• Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Operations Supervisor/Plant Manager

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment required; experience in a warehouse/inventory or shipping/receiving role preferred
• Forklift certification required; High-reach forklift experience preferred
• Valid US driver’s license required with clean driving record (i.e., DUI’s, history of accidents, etc.)
• Computer experience preferred
• Knowledge of general OSHA and safety standards
• Competencies utilized: active listening, decision making, service orientation, problem solving, time management, attention to detail
• Applicants chosen for employment will be required to submit to a criminal background check and drug screening

OTHER:

• This position requires near constant repetitive motions, sitting, standing, and using both hands
• Constant exposure to plant environment that is not climate-controlled
