Job summary

Qualifications

Warehouse Specialist

Full Time Greenville, NC, US

Summary

The Warehouse Management Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse operations, including full management of the external third-party warehouse's inventory, receiving and shipping activities, and SAP system data. This role drives operational excellence across inbound receiving, outbound shipping, inventory accuracy, and exception handling, while serving as the key liaison between the domestic control tower, local 3PL partners, and cross-functional stakeholders. The Warehouse Management Specialist also leads system and process optimization initiatives and provides team leadership to ensure high-quality, standardized execution.

Daily Warehouse Operations & Management

• Monitor and audit the on-site operational performance of third-party logistics (3PL) providers, drive continuous improvement in service levels, and own key KPI outcomes, including inbound receiving, outbound shipping, inventory accuracy, and exception handling.
• Manage the external third-party warehouse end-to-end, including inventory management, receiving and shipping (inbound/outbound) management, and maintaining accurate, up-to-date data in the SAP system.
• Establish and maintain a warehouse operations monitoring mechanism to promptly identify anomalies (timeliness delays, discrepancies, fulfillment issues), and drive root-cause analysis and closed-loop improvement.
• Partner with the in-house last-mile pickup/fulfillment team to ensure smooth, efficient handovers between warehousing and downstream transportation.
• Source potential local suppliers and vendors, build and maintain a qualified resource pool, and participate in and support supplier collaboration reviews.
• Manage the inbound and outbound movement of raw materials and finished goods at third-party warehouses, including inventory counts and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of inventory data in the system.

Internal & External Coordination

• Maintain frequent, high-quality communication with the domestic (China) control tower team, providing real-time updates on 3PL on-site operations, identifying risks, and escalating early warnings to drive timely resolution.
• Manage and guide 3PL execution in line with control tower strategy and business requirements, ensuring consistency of operational standards across sites.
• Build an effective collaboration mechanism with local 3PL teams; conduct regular performance reviews and drive implementation of improvement plans.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (customer service, sales, last-mile operations, etc.) to continuously optimize customer experience and fulfillment quality.

Team Coordination & Management

• Demonstrate strong team management and coordination skills; lead the team in understanding key business priorities and translating them into actionable, executable plans for high-quality delivery.
• Establish effective communication mechanisms to ensure accurate, timely information flow between the team and key stakeholders.

Cost & Quality Management

• Control warehouse operating costs (labor, rent, consumables, logistics, etc.) to achieve annual cost-budget targets
• Establish a quality-control system to reduce shipments, missed shipments, and damage rates, and improve order-fulfillment quality
• Continuously drive lean improvements, identify operational bottlenecks, and support optimization

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure warehouse operations comply with EU and local/host-country laws and regulations, including labor, fire-safety, and environmental regulations
• Establish and enforce warehouse safety-management systems to prevent fires, theft, workplace injuries, and other safety incidents
• Develop emergency response plans for unexpected situations, such as peak-season warehouse overload and logistics disruptions
• Cooperate with internal audits and external audits to ensure compliant warehouse management

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, 3PL management, supply chain, or logistics, ideally within e-commerce, cross-border trade, or retail distribution.
• Hands-on experience managing third-party warehouses, including inventory control, receiving/shipping processes, and SAP (or similar ERP/WMS) data management.
• Strong data analysis skills, with proficiency in Excel and experience building KPI dashboards or exception-tracking reports.
• Excellent communication; able to work effectively across time zones with local U.S. teams.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, with experience in root cause analysis (RCA) and driving closed-loop process improvement.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team, with strong organizational and project management skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel locally to warehouse sites in the greater area as needed.
