Job summary

Boise Cascade is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to manage storeroom operations, issue and receive parts, and ensure accurate deliveries. You will stage, kit, and inventory parts for work orders, performing cycle counts and obsolescence reviews while upholding safety policies.

You will also drive improvements to Supplier Managed Inventory programs, run replenishment reports, and coordinate with Purchasing. Flexibility for OT and physical tasks is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school degree or equivalent and strong computer skills.
• Able to operate computer/office equipment and learn diverse software.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills; math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Issue parts from storeroom and receive parts/equipment; ensure delivery accuracy.
• Charge stockroom supply to correct operating department and store parts in proper locations.
• Stage and kit parts for work orders; perform cycle counts and inventory reviews.
• Review slow moving/obsolete items, min/max reviews, and repair/return transactions.
• Drive improvements to Supplier Managed Inventory programs and ensure safety/compliance.

Responsibilities

This position will work with internal customers to issue out parts from the storeroom, including accounting for parts issued during off-hours. The Warehouse Specialist will receive parts and equipment, ensuring accuracy of the deliveries, charge stockroom supply for cost accountability to correct operating department and store parts in the proper location. Also included is staging and kitting parts intended for work order execution. The position will conduct periodic review and analysis of the inventory including but not limited to cycle counting, slow moving and obsolete reviews, criticality and min/max reviews, and repair & return transactions. The Warehouse Specialist will ensure the storeroom is organized through shelf/bin and parts identification and drive improvements to Supplier Managed Inventory programs. The position will run reports for replenishment, expediting and AP matching and communicate data to Purchasing Agent. The Warehouse Specialist will manage New Stock item initiation process for facility and ensure compliance to all safety, purchasing, stores and environmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: Requires a high school degree or equivalent and strong computer skills. Requires operation of computer/office equipment, expertise with MSOffice and ability to learn diverse computer software applications as required for supporting mill material management requirements. Successful candidate must possess excellent communication, problem solving, analytical, team player/team builder and organizational skills. Math skills are required. Weekend/extended hours OT is required. Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting (up to 50 lbs.), walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day.

Preferred Qualifications: 4-yr college business or mechanical degree preferred. Previous warehouse experience and maintenance background a plus. Working knowledge of MAXIMO and PEOPLESOFT procurement processes highly desired.
