What you’ll be doing:
As a warehouse associate, you may work in one of the following six areas:
- Warehouse Bulk/Material Handling Equipment Operator: Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks to pick and move products up to 100 lbs within the warehouse, following safety procedures. Not all work will involve equipment operation.
- Warehouse Porter: Responsible for general cleaning and basic maintenance inside and outside the facility, operating material handling equipment as needed, while adhering to safety procedures.
- Warehouse Replenishment: Operate equipment to pick and move products within the warehouse, adhering to safety procedures.
- Warehouse Receiving/Putaway/Returns: Confirm product accuracy, address discrepancies, unload trucks manually, and operate equipment to move products, ensuring safety and communication with colleagues.
- Warehouse Returns: Match item quantities and descriptions, check in returned products, tag them appropriately, and operate equipment to move products safely.
- Shipping: Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders, load trucks manually, and maintain a safe workspace.
Note: As an SC2 associate, you may be assigned to any of these roles or SC1 roles as needed. Your role is vital to Staples Supply Chain’s success, with a strong emphasis on safety culture.
What you bring to the table:
- Ability to become Material Handling Equipment Operator certified and operate equipment safely.
- Willingness to keep the work area clean.

- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature changes.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least three months of related warehouse experience or equivalent training, education, and experience.
- Ability to pass a drug screen legally permissible.
- Basic English communication skills (verbal and written).
- If full-time, ability to work additional hours and overtime as needed.
- Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more.
- Capability to lift, push, or pull 70-100 pounds manually.
- Ability to walk and stand throughout the shift.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and cherry pickers is helpful.
