Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Shipper and Receiver to join our climate-controlled warehouse team in Mesquite, TX. You will handle receiving, storing, and issuing materials, manage inventory records, and support order fulfillment using RF scanners and shipping software.

The role requires hands-on experience with forklifts and material handling equipment, accurate data entry, and adherence to safety standards. This contract-to-hire position offers steady scheduling and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Proficiency with inventory handling, including counting, recording, and verifying stock items.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment such as reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and walkies.
• Experience using RF scanners for inventory management and order picking.
• Ability to perform order picking, loading, and unloading tasks safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving documentation and processes.
• Capability to use shipping software to process and track orders and shipments.
• Strong attention to detail when verifying inventory and inspecting stock for damage or defects.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials, equipment, and products into the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard in a timely and accurate manner.
• Count and verify stock items upon receipt and record data manually or using a computer system.
• Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves or in designated storage areas in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
• Store items in an orderly, safe, and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, storage rooms, or other storage areas.
• Use identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment to clearly label stock items.
• Verify inventory records by comparing system data to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or correct errors as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, stock usage, and any damage to stock or stock handling equipment.
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear, damage, or defects and promptly report issues to supervisors.
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Assist with picking and preparing orders for shipment, including loading and unloading materials as required.
• Operate forklifts, reach trucks, walkies, and other material handling equipment safely to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
• Use RF scanners and shipping software to track inventory, process orders, and document shipping and receiving activities.
• Provide assistance and direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers to support team productivity and workflow.
