Job Summary
This position supports Ryder's Continuous Improvement culture by applying continuous improvement methods to optimize operations. The engineer will identify and implement data-driven CI, engineering, and automation initiatives to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. The role involves interfacing with employees at all levels and reports to the Lead Engineer, CI Manager, or Sr. CI Manager, closely aligning with Operations Management.
Essential Functions
- Collect and analyze data; map and document processes; identify gaps; recommend and implement improvements; develop and execute continuous improvement plans to enhance key metrics.
- Manage CI and engineering projects; support certifications; identify automation opportunities; collaborate with operations management and customers.
- Develop expertise in engineering methods, lean tools, and quality standards; coach employees in CI, QA, and Lean principles; utilize tools like product slotting, labor studies, layouts, data analysis, and resource modeling.
- Facilitate and execute Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events; coach process owners on lean methods for operational excellence.
- Provide regular data reports; recommend inventory and supply chain strategies.
Additional Responsibilities
- Design and monitor QMS based on standards; implement corrective actions; support compliance and certifications; perform QA functions for startups or expansions; perform other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of engineering and data analysis functions; experience with warehouse design tools and automation solutions is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 5+ years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years.
- Expertise in MS Office; intermediate in data visualization and database programming.
- Experience with lean systems, engineering methods, and warehouse design tools preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, automation, and transportation management systems preferred.
- Certifications like Lean Six Sigma, PMP, ISO/QMS are a plus.

Compensation Range
$90,000 - $100,000 annually, salaried.
