Warehouse Senior Industrial Engineer - Ryder Last Mile (remote)

Job Summary

This position supports Ryder's Continuous Improvement culture by applying continuous improvement methods to enhance operations. The Engineer will identify and implement data-driven changes through CI, Engineering, and Automation to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The role involves leveraging analytics, engineering methodologies, and lean tools to identify root causes and eliminate inefficiencies. The Engineer will collaborate across all levels of the organization and report to the Lead Engineer or CI Manager.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collect and analyze data; map and document processes; identify gaps; recommend and implement improvements; develop and execute continuous improvement plans to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development.
2. Manage CI projects and steady-state engineering initiatives; support certifications and automation projects; interact with management and customers.
3. Develop expertise in engineering methods and lean tools; coach employees in CI and quality principles; apply methodologies such as product slotting, labor standards, layouts, data analysis, and resource modeling.
4. Facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen Events; mentor process owners in lean practices.
5. Report on data and progress; provide strategic recommendations on inventory and supply chain.

Additional Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Quality Management System (QMS); implement corrective actions; support compliance and certifications; perform QA functions for startups or expansions; perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
• Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau; SQL knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of lean methods, engineering tools, warehouse design, automation, and logistics operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 5+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years; MBA candidates should have an undergraduate engineering degree.
• Expertise in MS Office; intermediate skills in PowerBI, Tableau, SQL.
• Experience with lean tools, warehouse design, automation, and logistics systems.
• Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, PMP, ISO/QMS are preferred.

Additional Information
